Sock-Tober Is HERE! Fall Benefit Event

Sock-Tober Benefit Sock Drive
Sock-Tober Benefit Sock DriveYes, Sock-Tober is here!

We’re super excited to announce our first annual Sock-Tober sock drive. The professional resaler’s organization to which we belong, the Association for Resale Innovation, is  banding together from coast to coast to donate socks to local shelters.

Here’s how it works! Here We Go Again has stocked up with great new socks- anklets, crews and trouser socks. For every pair you buy, you get to pick another pair to donate. We’ll have women’s, children’s and men’s socks and you can choose any pair you want to donate!

Super easy, but what’s the catch? Nothing! Our new socks start at only $4.00 so it’s an easy way to warm your soles and warm your soul. Some of our socks are fun, colorful and even a bit wacky, but for this event, we’ve brought in some wonderful everyday socks in more sedate patterns, too. We realize this is not what you might expect at a women’s designer consignment boutique, but giving is part of what we do, and one of our core values. At Here We Go Again, we’re proud to be part of our local community and to give back.

Our goal is to donate at least 100 pairs of socks – will you help us reach it? Our socks will be donated to both Mainspring Portland, the not-for-profit organization where we send our clothing donations; and Transition Projects, a local homeless advocacy organization.

Did you know that socks are one of the most requested, and most needed items for low-income and homeless populations? Sock-Tober is a super easy way to pick up a pair for yourself AND donate another at absolutely no cost to you.

Sock-Tober will continue all month long, at both store locations, shop early for the best selection. We love holding charitable events, and helping out local not for profit organizations. Thank you for helping!

Chris is a self-confessed resale fashionista. A fashion recycler from an early age, she learned the consignment business from her mother, Jan Gauger, at omt divine resale in Lincoln, Nebraska. Chris moved to Portland, Oregon in 1990 and immediately felt at home, among her people. She started Here We Go Again Deluxe Resale Boutique in 1992 and has never looked back. The second location of her store opened in 1997. Chris loves pretty much everything about clothes and fashion, but she has a serious boot and shoe addiction that is fed by the two stores. It's doubtful she will ever be recovered. In addition to clothes, Chris loves mentoring young women and teaching them about what it takes to run and manage a small business. She has employed some pretty remarkable women over the years and is grateful for all they've done to help grow Here We Go Again. She is a Hoosier by birth, but was raised in Nebraska. She has two sisters who continue to run the consignment store there, and one brother who has sense enough to stay out of the way. Her husband of twenty-seven years, is a land use planner and the fix-anything-guru that Chris relies upon more often than she'd like.
