Instagram Insider: Autumn Treasures

When you know something really good, sometimes you have to collectively whisper it into the ears of HWGA Fans. Cue this post! In the last several years, we’ve had the delight of witnessing our online audience grow and grow. We’ve acquired Facebook ‘regulars’ who consistently interact with our posts. We’ve had Pinterest followers who always re-pin our new product. We’ve had Twitter lovers ‘favorite’ our cheekiest tweets.

And now? Bring it on, Instagram.

Of all the digital platforms that we have created with Here We Go Again, each and every one has its own special twist. Facebook features weekly photo shoots of our favorite new arrivals. Pinterest stays seasonal and creates new trend boards and features of our own product for everyone to see. Twitter blasts announcements of exciting upcoming sales. That brings me to one very special form of media that is near and dear to my resale-loving heart: a photo app that instantly shares our newest treasures, outfit ideas, flash sales, random memes and exclusive discounts!

A favorite hashtag of late has been #OOTD: Outfit of the Day. There are some weeks where we are posting these on the daily, all with product from our stores. The best part about this isn’t just the planting of an idea for an outfit—-it’s the fact that you can comment and place a hold on the entire thing!

Another thing we are seeing a lot of lately is perhaps the #1 thing that Oregonians need around here: boots for the rain. This is our latest collection of playful rainwear, all featured from our Johns Landing store. When it rains, it pours—in boots, that is.

It’s pretty much a given that working at Here We Go Again is like a game of dress-up all day long. Sometimes a customer or consignor wants us to try something on for size—or we just can’t resist slipping something on (for “research” purposes, ladies!). We’ve also had plenty of styled photo shoots over the years. With the rise of Instagram, our photo shoots are playfully impromptu and never predictable. Cue the catwalk!

One of the best parts about our Instagram is the chance to quickly feature our newest product, especially the prized items that we order brand new for the store. Our latest batch features the coziest of cozy infinity scarves, seen here chillin’ with the cutest of cute pumpkins.

We’re so curious—-what would you like to see more of on Instagram? Comment on this blog or leave a line or two on our latest insta-post. Some of our best ideas come from our fans themselves! Thanks for reading, everyone—and stay tuned for upcoming holiday features!

Chris is a self-confessed resale fashionista. A fashion recycler from an early age, she learned the consignment business from her mother, Jan Gauger, at omt divine resale in Lincoln, Nebraska. Chris moved to Portland, Oregon in 1990 and immediately felt at home, among her people. She started Here We Go Again Deluxe Resale Boutique in 1992 and has never looked back. The second location of her store opened in 1997. Chris loves pretty much everything about clothes and fashion, but she has a serious boot and shoe addiction that is fed by the two stores. It's doubtful she will ever be recovered. In addition to clothes, Chris loves mentoring young women and teaching them about what it takes to run and manage a small business. She has employed some pretty remarkable women over the years and is grateful for all they've done to help grow Here We Go Again. She is a Hoosier by birth, but was raised in Nebraska. She has two sisters who continue to run the consignment store there, and one brother who has sense enough to stay out of the way. Her husband of twenty-seven years, is a land use planner and the fix-anything-guru that Chris relies upon more often than she'd like.
