Fall Trends: Tailored, Teal and More!

Nothing is more apparent in Fall Trends this year than one thing: There’s something for everyone! In the midst of a swarm of new arrivals, we’ve managed to find some fun patterns that go right along with runway trends. Whether you gravitate toward feminine details, edgy moto style, tailored classics or vibrant colors, read ahead to find your fave!

1. Tailored Jackets & Blazers

This time of year, all of us at HWGA get so excited to start putting out all of the fabulous outerwear that ladies have been hiding in their closets. During this transitional part of the season, tailored jackets and structured blazers are the perfect gateway between the chill of winter and summer heat. Dress up a pair of jeans, or pair with a colorful maxi for a breezy evening! Recommended brands for tailored looks: Theory, Ann Taylor (no pun intended) and Prada.

2. Bohemian Details

The heavily Seventies-inspired runways this year have filtered into our racks, although we think Portland has always had a bit of bohemian in its blood! A free spirit means eclectic details: crochet sleeves, lace edges and beaded necklines. Our favorite brands and designers who do this well: Anthropologie, Free People and Nanette Lepore.

3. Edgy Moto Looks

The verdict is in: Edgy motorcycle looks are here to stay! Over the past few seasons, we’ve seen motorcycle wear go from head-to-toe leather to a bit more, well, wearable. In terms of how to wear an edgy coat or boot, the trick is to soften it up with the rest of your outfit. For moto boots, pair with a slim jean or jegging with a cozy tunic sweater this Fall.

4. Color of the Season: Teal

There’s nothing prettier than jewel tones in the fall, and we’re excited to see such a mass of them this year! Teal hues are flattering on such a broad array of skin tones, it’s no wonder that it keeps popping back up on the runways. Whether paired with seasonal tones of mustard and cranberry or simple blacks and greys, teal is the real deal!

Chris is a self-confessed resale fashionista. A fashion recycler from an early age, she learned the consignment business from her mother, Jan Gauger, at omt divine resale in Lincoln, Nebraska. Chris moved to Portland, Oregon in 1990 and immediately felt at home, among her people. She started Here We Go Again Deluxe Resale Boutique in 1992 and has never looked back. The second location of her store opened in 1997. Chris loves pretty much everything about clothes and fashion, but she has a serious boot and shoe addiction that is fed by the two stores. It's doubtful she will ever be recovered. In addition to clothes, Chris loves mentoring young women and teaching them about what it takes to run and manage a small business. She has employed some pretty remarkable women over the years and is grateful for all they've done to help grow Here We Go Again. She is a Hoosier by birth, but was raised in Nebraska. She has two sisters who continue to run the consignment store there, and one brother who has sense enough to stay out of the way. Her husband of twenty-seven years, is a land use planner and the fix-anything-guru that Chris relies upon more often than she'd like.
