Marc Jacobs Fashion Designer

In light of the recent flood of magical Marc Jacobs arrivals at both of our stores, it seemed fitting to dedicate a blog post in his honor. Read on to take a peek at some of our favorite gems from the ever-alternative-quirky-edgy Mr. Jacobs. From his playful prints, vibrant colors and luscious accessories, it’s clear that we just can’t get enough (and neither can our shoppers). Several of the items featured below are listed currently at our online store—but it’s hard to say if they’ll get scooped up by the time this feast reaches your eyes!

Oh, Marc. Why do we love thee so? For one, you are perfectly unpredictable—yet we seem to spot you on a resale rack from a mile away. Marc is known for his tongue-in-cheek prints; just take a look at the “Scream Queen” 3d images printed all over his latest collection for proof. He’s forever known to experiment with unexpected color combinations, too. His subsequent runway collections and perfume bottle design for Lola combined intense reds and deep purples, an unlikely color combination that he turned from antique Red Hat Society to the modern look du jour.  His supple leather handbags and accessories fly off our shelves so fast, it could give a gal whiplash.

The main allure of Marc Jacob’s accessories in resale can be summed up in one word: exciting. You’re hard pressed to find a single boring thing ever made from Marc Jacobs; even his crispest white shirts are sure to have a playful Peter Pan collar or an unexpected pocket. What’s more, his season-to-season styles don’t disappoint. They constantly keep us guessing, and are often so ahead of the game that they’re still fashion-forward  even two or three seasons later.

Bonus: our Instagram photos are often the first to announce new designer arrivals, too. See you on the flipside, fellow fashionistas.

Chris is a self-confessed resale fashionista. A fashion recycler from an early age, she learned the consignment business from her mother, Jan Gauger, at omt divine resale in Lincoln, Nebraska. Chris moved to Portland, Oregon in 1990 and immediately felt at home, among her people. She started Here We Go Again Deluxe Resale Boutique in 1992 and has never looked back. The second location of her store opened in 1997. Chris loves pretty much everything about clothes and fashion, but she has a serious boot and shoe addiction that is fed by the two stores. It's doubtful she will ever be recovered. In addition to clothes, Chris loves mentoring young women and teaching them about what it takes to run and manage a small business. She has employed some pretty remarkable women over the years and is grateful for all they've done to help grow Here We Go Again. She is a Hoosier by birth, but was raised in Nebraska. She has two sisters who continue to run the consignment store there, and one brother who has sense enough to stay out of the way. Her husband of twenty-seven years, is a land use planner and the fix-anything-guru that Chris relies upon more often than she'd like.
