Dear Resale Lovers,

UPDATE Monday, March 16:

Effective 6pm today, both our stores will close temporarily. Since we can’t know how long the threat will be active, we can’t say exactly when we’ll reopen. Our decision was made with a great deal of thought and agonizing, over the impacts on our staff and community.

We feel we need to be part of the solution and help control the contagion. Your safety and that of our staff are paramount.

If you are a consignor, please don’t worry about your pickup dates. We will not be donating anything, and will hold things for pickup well after we reopen. If you have money on your account and want to request a check, please send me an email using the “Contact Us” button on our homepage. I will be in the stores regularly and can mail checks out at no charge due to our closure.

This has been a gut-wrenching week, feeling like the ground has been shifting under our feet every day.

Our goal at HWGA has always been to provide a safe space in every sense of the word. The Corona virus has presented us with an unimaginable threat which we are taking very seriously.

Here are steps we are taking in the stores to combat contagion:

      • Disinfecting surfaces and frequent touch points throughout the day.
      • Establishing a hand-sanitizing station right inside our doors. Health officials advise that alcohol-based sanitizers do kill the virus.
      • Making sure our employees do not come in if they feel unwell.

No one can predict how long this threat will remain and it’s having a serious impact on us. We want to keep our staff employed, but more importantly, healthy and well. Our stores are not crowded or close-proximity contact situations and we are confident it’s safe to shop with us. But, because of the slowdown we will be temporarily closing.

This situation is evolving daily, so please stay tuned. We’ll do our best to keep you apprised in advance about any further changes.

Because things are changing so rapidly, please call the shops for up-to-the-minute information.

Chris is a self-confessed resale fashionista. A fashion recycler from an early age, she learned the consignment business from her mother, Jan Gauger, at omt divine resale in Lincoln, Nebraska. Chris moved to Portland, Oregon in 1990 and immediately felt at home, among her people. She started Here We Go Again Deluxe Resale Boutique in 1992 and has never looked back. The second location of her store opened in 1997. Chris loves pretty much everything about clothes and fashion, but she has a serious boot and shoe addiction that is fed by the two stores. It's doubtful she will ever be recovered. In addition to clothes, Chris loves mentoring young women and teaching them about what it takes to run and manage a small business. She has employed some pretty remarkable women over the years and is grateful for all they've done to help grow Here We Go Again. She is a Hoosier by birth, but was raised in Nebraska. She has two sisters who continue to run the consignment store there, and one brother who has sense enough to stay out of the way. Her husband of twenty-seven years, is a land use planner and the fix-anything-guru that Chris relies upon more often than she'd like.
