| AMANDA
Amanda
is our Manager at the NE Broadway store. She originally
hails from New England and grew up in both Massachusetts
and New Hampshire. She is one of our tour-de-force display
creators, and relishes every opportunity to put together
an entire outfit for one of our shoppers. She loves
working at HWGA because she can dream and find inspiration
from our fashionably wonderful customers and consignors.
Unusual for a New Englander, she loves her spicy food
and is frequently seen at various burrito carts in Portland
getting her fix. Her idea of a perfect day would be
sunny, with sweets for breakfast and a day to spend
outdoors, taking advantage of hiking in Forest Park,
capped with an evening filled with music and friends!
Amanda may be wiry, but don't mess with her, she studies
Shaolin Kung Fu!

ANNA
Our
Social Media maven, Anna, was born on the East Coast
and spent time living in the Midwest (Indiana and Chicago),
Austria and Germany before moving to Portland in 1999.
Style and fashion are totally different things, Anna
has discovered. As a result, she has created her own
style inspired by history, European street trends, Italian
designers like Roberto Cavalli and by making her own
jewelry. Anna loves all foods, especially her Omama's
stuffed peppers and her Granny's butterscotch pie. She
loves staying connected to customers by managing the
HWGA Twitter and Facebook accounts when she's not in
the store.

CaMICHA
CaMicha
does know the way to San Jose, 'cuz that's where she's
from! She admires and emulates Jackie O.--her role model,
but with CaMicha's own personal twist applied. She's
passionate about dance and all things dance-related.
In her life outside HWGA, she also dances professionally.
She loves sushi and her two awesome cats. (Coincidence?
We think not!) She'd like to add that she also loves
ANYTHING that her mom makes her to eat. Her leisure
time is spent dancing, having coffee with her friends,
shopping (see a trend here?) or watching movies. Her
deepest, darkest secret is that she loves to play "pretend
rock star" when she's getting ready in the morning,
although, of course now, it's no longer a secret! Also,
she's weirdly obsessed with her chapstick and cannot
even think of living without it! CaMicha joins us after
the careful tutelage of Nancy Kneisel, owner of Second
Glance in Corvallis and a close personal friend of Chris's,
so she's a seasoned resale pro and has hit the ground
running.

CHELSEA
Born
and bred in Portland, OR, Chelsea is the latest addition
to our Style Sleuthing fashionistas. Her influences come
from Delmy Rivera of www.fashionbananas.com,
Zuhair Murad, Elie Saab, Bob Mackie, Betsey Johnson, and
Marilyn Monroe. In Chelsea’s free time, she loves
to sing, eat (“ChineseAfricanMexicanSeafoodSushi-SouthernFoodPhoThanksgiving”)
and write comedy scripts with the goal of producing a
web series. Her love for fashion also shows in her love
for making and wearing jewelry. Chelsea wants people to
know that she is a genuinely caring person who is not
just asking about your day so she can sell you a handbag
– she really is interested in how your day is going!
True confession? She was rooting for the Joker in “The
Dark Knight.” Sorry, Batman. |

CHRIS
Born
and raised in Nebraska (how midwest can you get?) Chris
moved to Portland in 1990 with her adored husband and
cats. She lives in Southeast Portland and since relocating
to the west coast, finally feels that she's with her
people. She is a mad, impetuous gardener and a complete
leaf freak. HWGA is family to her and she's made dear
friends with many customers, vendors and staff members.
She's truly grateful for the warmth and good wishes
she receives from customers and consignors. Chris wants
HWGA to continue to grow and evolve, and finds it a
delightful challenge to reinvent her business each day.

OLIVA Y.
Olivia
Y. hails from Cedar City, Utah. She loves following fashion
blogs from around the world, Pinterest, and whatever else
she comes across that floats her boat. She includes Michael
Kors, Maja from The Sounds and Lana Del Rey as her fashion
inspirations. She maintains that while their styles are
very different, they both inspire you to dress and be
as free as you like! It is reflective of Olivia’s
personality: “Your style is a part of life, BE YOU,
so you might as well be as snazzy as you choose.”
Cycling, hiking, rock climbing, and yoga are some of Olivia’s
favorite activities. She loves being outdoors and active!
She says that the thing she wants people to know is that
she might just be the friendliest person you ever met.
She is always positive and tries to make the best of every
situation. That, and she’s hilarious. She says she
could eat a grilled cheese every day of the week, or anything
she can add sour cream or onions to. (“’I’m
obsessed’ is putting it mildly.”) Olivia is
also spontaneous: she moved to Oregon without ever once
visiting. She says that it was time for a change one day
and this is where she ended up. She is so glad she did.
As are we! |
